British Drum Co. announces the new addition of Rich Kass, drummer of Trio HLK + Dame Evelyn Glennie, to the artist family.
We welcome a new member to the BDC artist roster, Rich Kass. Rich is a Scottish drummer known for his jazz, fusion and electronica style playing, recently touring with his band Trio HLK + Dame Evelyn Glennie.
Rich started his BDC journey with his visit to the headquarters for a Factory Tour back in December last year. His experience was certainly enlightening, as he writes "BDC make the most incredible instruments. They do this by-hand, with passion, innovation and meticulous attention to detail. "
"I like music and art that is beautifully crafted and has a strong sense of individual identity" Rich continues, "BDC drums embody these characteristics, they really are works of art in their own right. All aspects of construction is second-to-none, and it all adds up to beautiful and unique instruments which sound and look incredible. This is why I choose to play BDC drums.”
Rich Kass' kit setup is quite the list! He chose three kits in a shimmering Whitehaven finish, alongside four of our BDC snares; The Archer, Aviator, Bluebird and a fabulous Founder's Reserve Bog Oak.
Regarding his chosen finish, Rich responds “The Whitehaven finish is the perfect finish for me! The white colour is neutral so blends perfectly with any surrounding, but as soon as the stage lights hit it, it turns into a kaleidoscope producing such beautiful depth of colour and brilliant reflections of light. It sounds and feels beautiful to play. You can really tell that these drums have been hand-built at every step of the build-process."
