Born October 17th 1988. I started playing drums when I was 9 years old on the local music school. Soon I played with a Big Band, a soul-combo and snare drum with a mallet-band.  Because of this I got some great experience and I knew I wanted to be a drummer.

After higher general secondary education I started my music study at D’Drive in Leeuwarden. During my studies I played with lots of different band/projects and got a lot of live experience.  I also did some studio recordings and worked on different albums. I graduated with my own live show where I played rock, metal and latin to showcase my diversity as a drummer.

During my music study at D’Drive I noticed that I was very fond of teaching. Therefore I started another education as tutoring assistant. Hereby as a teacher I do not only have musical knowledge but also pedagogical knowledge.

Currently I teach at  my own, drum school - Dijkstra Drumschool.   I give drum workshops. I also continue to play with various bands such as Cesar Zuiderwijk's Drum Demons and Dennis Hendriks.
