Hi I'm Joel Goodwin, a 22 year old drummer from Stockport.
I've always loved playing drums, it's my way of expressing myself to the world.
I grew up listening to the greats ( Neil Peart, Buddy Rich, Ginger Baker, John Bonham) to name a few. I currently play in the Seb Lowe band and have my own jazz duo. I enjoy blurring the lines between rock and jazz, as we all know, you can’t put music in boxes.

The first time I saw a British Drum Company kit was when Joe from the Blossoms started playing one probably getting on for ten years ago now. It took a while for me to see one in person but I remember thinking god they look good when I did. I was lucky enough to play a Lounge Series kit at Kendal Calling Festival a few years back and ever since then I knew they were the drums for me. The warm vintage tones from the drums really complimented my playing, they just felt spot on.

Having a look around the factory where these legendary drums are made was a real treat. I was shown how the drums are made from starting life as a pile of 1 ply sheets of wood to the finished product. It was interesting to see how the drums are put together using very little heat, something which I understand is a very rare way of doing it. A highlight of the tour was learning about the importance of bearing edges and how this dictates the whole sound depending on how steep an angle you go for.
