About the Charity Raffle
British Drum Co is a recognised long time supporter of the Armed Forces, and supplies drums to the Royal Marine Band Service.
We are now hosting an online raffle for a Bluebird Snare Drum to raise funds for Sophie Ward, a member of the RMBS who has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease at young age.
About Sohpie Ward
Sophie joined the Royal Marines Band Serivce in 2020 and served as a flute and saxophone player in Collingwood Band from 2022. She met her husband, Rich, in training and they married in April 2023, just months before her devestating dignosis.
After some concerns about her health last year, and some lengthy investigations, Sophie was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in January 2024, aged just 26.
She has been incredibly resilient and defiant of her diagnosis, never giving up and never letting its progress get in the way of enjoying life. However, the speed of her deterioration is shocking.
